March 2023: Westport lifestyle - Simple is Hip for Homes

“‘You don’t see huge formality anymore or ornateness. Nobody wants to live in a museum,’ says Jeff Titus, who has witnessed many a trend over his 28 years building and remodeling homes through his busy TitusBuilt firm. ‘The appeal of the open floor plan and its benefits are still there, but there’s an eagerness for cozy spaces.’

One of the biggest trends Jeff and his team are seeing is the continued popularity of the first-floor bedroom suite – planned for a master suite or a private space for extended family. A boon for homeowners looking into their senior years and those who want to let grandparents feel at home, they are often outfitted with curb-less showers and heated flooring.”

“‘Our business slogan is ‘Building clients for life,’ and so that does mean a lot when you have generations of community and family in the area, and you’re putting your name on a business, which to me signifies being fair and delivering exceptional service and value,’ [Jeff] says. ‘We spend so much time and energy attracting clients to us, good clients, that we want to serve them for the rest of time. That’s our goal.’”

“When presented with a new project – whether it’s a kitchen refresh, a well-planned addition or a whole-house overhaul – the building and design expert [Jeff] looks at the original bones of the house for inspiration. ‘We transform the space – the look, the feel – but we don’t impose a specific style that’s ours,’ Jeff says. ‘Those kinds of things don’t work. We are guided by what is architecturally correct for what is already there. Our goal is to make it look like it was designed and built like that from the beginning.’”

Winter 2018: New England Home - CT

New England Home CT featured one of our favorite historical home renovations. Originally built in 1826, we gave this Wilton home a total facelift; everything from the kitchen, to all the bathrooms and bedrooms, and living rooms were made to look modern and elegant.
